voteTo help people explore the world is the primary objective of the Google Earth team of Google. Whether on your computer or on your mobile device, it aims to bring the overwhelming 3D experience and all the global imagery of Google Earth to the palm of your hand.
What is Google Earth? Google Earth is an amazing application that recently was moved by Google to the Apple iPhone. This application lets you fly anywhere on Earth in so many amazing ways, giving the users the ability to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings and even explore galaxies in the Sky.

How to get started? Simply click on the App store on your iPhone or iTunes store, search for Google Earth and download the application. After that, your iPhone instantly becomes a window to anywhere allowing you to experience the fun of using Google Earth not just on the computer but on your iPhone.

How to use the Google Earth application? Anyone can instantly be familiar with the Google Earth's interface, especially if he/she has used an Apple iPhone for more than a couple of hours. To launch the app, simply tap the Google Earth icon on your home screen. After the tap, you will immediately see a photo of the Earth on your screen. On the same screen, you will see the icons such as display for search, use your current location, change settings, and realign the display to North. Zooming in and out is so simply by just using the pinch gesture on your screen. To move the display in the chosen direction, just swipe a finger left, right, up, or down. The two-finger rotation shall turn the display clockwise or counter-clockwise.

What are the features of Google Earth application? Aside from bringing you an overwhelming 3D experience using the application straight on your iPhone, Google Earth also has great features that the iPhone users will surely enjoy. As follows:

Motion Detection. Tilt your iPhone to adjust your view of mountainous terrain. If you're near mountainous terrain, you can get a true sense of the topographical features of the land by using Google Earth on your iPhone. This is because the iPhone has a motion detector feature that also works with Google Earth. Simply tilt your iPhone and you will be able to see mountains form flat and satellite-eye view to a 3D-like image. Some users noticed that the Google Earth app 1.0 release tends to crash quite frequently, most often when they are looking at a zoomed-in image of something near a 3D surface and then tried to tilt or pan the image. Restarting your iPhone doesn't solve the problem, but hopefully Google's update of the app will soon fix the issue.

Local Search. Search for cities, places, and businesses around the globe with Google Earth local search. You will be amazed how this feature works and how accurate the information is. To run a search, simply tap on the location icon in the lower left corner of the display.

Satellite and aerial imagery. View the same imagery available in the desktop version of Google Earth. Yes, using Google Earth on your iPhone enables you to explore the same global satellite and aerial imagery available in the desktop version of Google Earth. Since the imagery only includes high-resolution images for over half of the world's population and a third of the world's land mass, those area that have low-resolution imagery will not be seen on the iPhone.

Panoramic Photo Layer. Google earth also has a Panoramio photo layer that allows you to add and/or browse millions of geo-located photos around the world. Searching for locations is so easy using the built-in search function.

Wikipedia Layer. This is an amazing feature of the app. Google Earth displays Wikipedia icon that links to geo-located Wikipedia articles.

Google Earth is really an amazing application that not only works well with the iPhone. Since its FREE, this app works well with your budget too.
