Throughout the world it's really normal for men to date younger women. Even in the "good ol" US, where there can be culture hang ups that make going out with younger women not as acceptable socially, it still occurs commonly. The fact is, polls indicate that in about 75% of American married couples, the husband is at least two years older .However if men date ladies that are 15 or more years younger there tends to be a measure of resistance within the US culture. It's important to understand that this cultural push-back basically goes away when we get outside of the US. In South America, the former Soviet Block and in Asia, men date younger women and even get married to younger women often. The fact is, a 20 year difference will not even raise an eyebrow in many .But in the world's most prosperous countries, like Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Luxembourg, it's very normal for men to date younger women. A poll of Scandinavian females showed that more than 75% had gone out with a man who is at least nine years older than them. And over 50% had gone out with a man 15 years her senior.Truthfully, the "strangeness" that a few Americans attach to going out with an older man is pretty much unknown all over the world. Consider Brazil, a new magazine survey showed that more than 85% of girls in their early twenties had dated at least 1 guy who is 40 or above. Interestingly, Brazilian girls often find it weird when a 22 year old girl wants to date a guy her same age. Brazilian women think, "he is naive and not stable -- what can he have to offer a lady?"So internationally, it's not particularly strange in the least when a guy dates a younger woman. Clearly, men who are a bit older also tend to be richer and have a greater standard of living. But older men are usually wiser, and less likely to hop from a relationship to another, something young guys routinely do.And, older men are frequently more relaxed, and that can mean a better quality of life and not as much stress in the relationship.Critics occasionally say that when men date younger women they will have zilch in common. Of course it's correct that 20-year-olds have contrasting interests than 40somethings, it is also true that we all search for a mate that completes us. You could say, we are not searching for the same qualities and interest we already have in a mate -- we are searching for qualities and interests that are complementary to our own.Young females, who have energy, have excitement and verve are sometimes well suited with a mature man who has knowledge, security and confidence.
